Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that, despite the global economic challenges, the New Patriotic Party government has surpassed all previous governments in the Fourth Republic by constructing a higher number of infrastructure projects.
Following the submission of his nomination forms for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership race, Dr. Bawumia emphasized in his speech that his commitment to honesty, hard work, dedication, and discipline as Vice President has played a significant role in accomplishing this achievement, even in the face of challenges.
Despite the prevailing economic difficulties, our government has surpassed all previous administrations in the fourth republic by erecting a greater number of infrastructure projects. Moreover, we have implemented numerous groundbreaking policies for the first time in our nation's history, such as the Ghana card, Digital Address system, Mobile Money Interoperability, drone delivery of medicines, One District One Factory initiative, Planting for Food and Jobs program, Zongo Development Fund, Agenda 111, as well as introducing free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and free Senior High School (SHS) education. Additionally, we have successfully generated 2.1 million employment opportunities within a span of six years, exceeding the record of any government in the fourth republic.
After successfully implementing these revolutionary policy initiatives, it is crucial that we do not regress as a nation. It would be unwise to entrust the country's future to individuals who lack comprehension of and faith in our vision. Therefore, it is of utmost significance for us to secure a new term in office and break the cycle of eight years. There is still an abundance of tasks awaiting our attention and action.
The Vice President also called upon the citizens of Ghana to support his presidential aspirations, as he envisions a future where technology, data, and efficient systems are utilized to foster inclusive economic growth. His goal is to position Ghana as the leading digital hub in Africa, bridging the digital divide and harnessing the potential of digital technology and artificial intelligence to revolutionize sectors such as healthcare, education, and public service delivery, among others.
